'Related keywords' in domain name

Hi,

I have a domain name with keywords that are related to my main targetted keywords. Does google recognise closely related (industry related keywords)?

For example:
If I used www . garage . com would I receive hits for cars?
If I used www . furniture . com would I receive hits for sofa?
If I used www . movies . com would I recieve hits for Blu Ray Players?

Thanks,

Matt.

[/quote]Google recognises synonyms, so if I search for seaside it might return a page about beaches or the coast.

But Google returns the results it thinks most closely match the search terms - and for that, it looks primarily at the content of your page.

If I search for “Blu Ray Players”, and you have a page about Blu Ray Players on your site, then Google will recognise it as relevant and return it, whether yourdomain is movies.com or garage.com. If you have no information about Blu Ray Players on your site, it will make no odds what your domain is; you won’t show up in search results.
