Recording from USB Headset?

I bought a USB Headset for my MacBook a few days ago, and I am trying to figure out how to configure my Sound Preferences and SoundFlower settings so I can record my voice when I speak into the headset…

Check under settings > sound > input tab and make sure it is listed/selected there.

Yes, it is there.

Do I need LineIn to record from a USB Headset?

Debbie

I can’t say for sure, but I don’t think so. When I first got my mac, I wanted to run my old windows computer’s audio through it and it wasn’t working, a friend recommended “line in”.

From what I can tell soundflower is a similar type app that allows audio from one device to pass through on OS X (a feature that used to exist by default but has apparently been removed)

Here is the screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/2mrglcfrsykfhds/Screenshot%202014-03-15%2021.08.36.png (i guess an admin has to approve the other one) so if soundflower is listed on your settings > sound > input tab, try clicking that and testing.

Thanks for trying to help, but I think you’re missing the complexity of the situation…

I know how to use SoundFlower to record radio shows and capture them with Audacity.

It is much more involved to capture the other person’s voice off of Zoip and my voice coming presumably from my headset.

I want to believe that I have everything I need to make this work, but Mac’s have such a FUBAR way of doing sound that it boggles my mind?!
