I’m not finding much recent discussion on mobile sites. Most of what I’ve found on SP has been great, but a couple of years old.
One thing that mystifies me is that the format of sites has gotten very large – large fonts, wider format, very deep footers, etc – while devices are getting smaller. This doesn’t seem to make sense to me.
Does anyone have any input on this? Does Sitepoint plan any articles/blogs/courses/books on this topic?

The best advice I’ve seen on mobile web is this which is in fact a solution to all methods in some ways. Design for the lowest common denominator first and then add enhancements for more capable browsers and devices.
Thanks! You’re right. I searched several terms and none of the recommended threads came to light. I can’t imagine why they didn’t come up under the term “mobile”. The only results I had previously were quite old.
