I just came from the forums at raymondcamden.com, and he has announced that the forums are going to close. Looks like the end of this week. There is a small chance that he’ll move them somewhere else, but his initial post did indicate closing the forums.
When I said “regulars”, I pretty much meant you. Not sure what to suggest. I left cf-talk a few months ago. I guess Stackoverflow would be the best place, but wouldn’t allow random chatter like this.
If the site had more traffic, I’d just move it to coldfusionbloggers.org/forums or some such.
I’ll make you a deal - if we can get 4 other people to chime in - just 5 users total - I’ll do so.
It can’t hurt… however, be aware that most of the users I’ve seen for the last several months have only posted a few times, then didn’t come back, and the users who have a lot of posts (excluding me) typically haven’t posted anything for quite some time, so I’m not sure how many would gravitate to SPF.
As Ryan quoted, Ray pretty much meant me when he said “regulars”. LOL!
Also be advised, Ray did indicate a small chance that he would MOVE the forums (like to cfblogger.com/forums), too. (shrug)
I’m not saying to not try to get users, I’m just saying that there might not be many users to get. He’s closing it because it’s ostensibly inactive. I’m currently the most active user, there. And other than today’s announcement of closing, there hasn’t been a new post in (I think) over a week.
The odds of him moving it I can’t really comment on, because I honestly don’t know. He originally told me that if I could get four other members to speak up, he’d move it to another forum - I tried, no luck.
