Indexation is a post crawl/discover process. The rate at which your site will get indexed is directly related to the number and quality of your back-links (PR). The better you distribute your own PR, or the PR of inbound links (IBL) to deeper parts of your site the faster you will get into the index (if your content deserves to be).
Now i’ll let all the parrots chime in about dofollow blogs, forum posts, article submission and all that other tripe…
seriocomic is absolutely right but a larger question remains. Why do care about the speed by which your site is crawled? If you’re making regular updates then Googlebot will regularly crawl your site based on your update schedule. You can’t tell Googlebot to crawl more often, you just need to show that you’re publishing content often enough for it to learn.
Actually you can, you can set a crawl rate in GWT but if you don’t then live up to that i.e. there isn’t fresh content everytime it comes back, then it will stop coming as regularly.
It was my understanding that that crawl rate is the speed at which Googlebot crawls the site and not the frequency Googlebot of the visiting the site. Am I mistaken?
place your site link on other websites that are crawled more frequently e.g. Digg. Usually that helps.
