I tried downloading and reading the PDF file of PHP & MySQL: Novice to Ninja, 6th Edition. The first time I downloaded it, the last half of the pages were missing. I re-downloaded the PHP file a week later and all the pages seem to be there, but the book cover and all the text on the pages are missing. This is what a page looks like:
I can only see certain words and graphics, the rest is blank. The cover is also missing from the PDF. The ePub version is fine, but I like the PDF version sometimes because it’s easier to read the code than it is in the ePub version.
I’m viewing the PDF with Preview on a Mac running macOS Mojave.
What you should probably do is try purchasing the book. Those are just promo versions to provide some insight into the book. @TomB and his partner Kevin Yank did a fantastic job on the book. It is worth every penny you pay for it. You even have direct access to one of the authors on this forum where he will graciously and personally answer questions you have about the book.
I bought a Sitepoint membership which is supposed to give me access to all the books they offer. What do you mean it’s a “promo version”? Are you saying a Sitepoint membership only provides access to partial books? The other books I downloaded appear complete to me, it’s just this one has problems with the PDF version only.

I have the epub version, and I’ve just downloaded the PDF to check. Apart from the missing cover image, it seems fine to me. (I’ve not looked right through it, obviously.) Perhaps try downloading it again?
I just downloaded the PDF version again (3rd time), and now I can see all the text, just the cover is missing. Weird! Would be great if they could put the cover back in there, it’s easier to visually locate the book that way. The first time I downloaded the PDF the cover was there, but half the pages were missing.
Do you find the code difficult to read in the ePub version, too? Wish there was a way they could format it so it was more readable, but perhaps that’s just a limitation of that file type.
In what way is the code tricky to read on your e-reader, @OhMonty? The epub format is kind of limited, and the reading experience varies between devices, but if you provide some detail I’ll see if we can find a away to mitigate it.
