Png question - color transparency effect?

is it possible to make a png with a ‘color’ transparency blend mode, as in PS or IL? my page background is a duotone blue/black photo, and i’d like the body area to have a background that is somewhat transparent, but has a ‘color blend’ mode of black on it, making that whole area black/white instead of black/blue.
please let me know if i have not explained this properly.

is this possible with a png? i’m guessing no… but hoping yes! :slight_smile:

I guess is a yes if save your png in RGB color not indexed Color

Photoshop: Image->Mode->RGB Color then save it as png file format

Great question. I have tried to do this but doesn’t seem to work for me. Searching out another viable option. I have a lot of issues with png! yuck.
