PI Day is coming to your timezone very soon!

Where will you celebrate?

The Pi Day Clock - 3.14.15 9:26:53 (Month, day, year, hour, mnute and second)

And let’s not forget it’s also Albert Einstein’s birthday, so let’s celebrate!

I’ll join the celebration… even if for me the Pi Day doesn’t exist. Basically becasue in my country we write dates as day / month / year Since there’re not 14 months in the calendar…

One of my son’s best friend and his family have celebrated pi day by bringing pies into school every year (which makes it my son’s favorite day too :cake: (there’s no pie emoji? What’s up with that? :scream: )

They are SO bummed that the “ultimate pi day” is on a Saturday…

Girlfriend is a high school math teacher, so they do “Pi Day” every year. Apparently they bring in round food (pie, cookies, etc) and do stuff with it. If they don’t bring in enough food for the class, they have busy work to do instead. There’s apparently a good turnout for most classes

You can’t have Pi Day every year… unless you make it as 3,14 only…

That’s a pretty common practice, I think

Yes every century

The Pi Day Clock - 3.14.15 9:26:53
The Pi Day of the Century is coming! One day every century, the numbers of the current month, day, year, hour, minute and second line up to match the first 10 digits of the mathematical constant pi: 3.14.15 9:26:53. On this page you can watch this rare event occur in real time.

That’s a pretty common practice, I think
Yes every century smile

Clarification: It’s a pretty common practice to do it yearly, on 3/14. This year, it happens to be a more accurate Pi day

Whoops, I missed it. It was a few hours ago here.

Surely even with Australias time zone it can’t be March 14th yet?

@HAWK’s a New Zealander, not an Aussie. I guess NZ is two days ahead of us, or maybe she’s just that special

Well, you left SitePoint, so I guess we can’t argue with that statement…
