PHP If Else For Wordpress

I am trying to get some code working that will NOT show the sidebar on a calendar page i made so that it can get as wide as I need it. This is what I tried:

// let's generate info appropriate to the page being displayed
if ( is_page( 'Calender' ) ) {
        // our about page.
    } else {

<div id="sidebar">
    <a href="<?php bloginfo('url'); ?>"><?php $logo = (get_option('egamer_logo') <> '') ? get_option('egamer_logo') : get_bloginfo('template_directory').'/images/logo.jpg'; ?>
		<img src="<?php echo $logo; ?>" width="272" height="99" alt="Logo" class="logo"/></a>

    <?php if ( !function_exists('dynamic_sidebar') || !dynamic_sidebar() ) : ?>
    <?php endif; ?>

In my sidebar.php and then NOTHING comes up at all.

This is based off a suggestion on the Wordpress Codex but obviously I have missed something.

Thanks for any help.

Well I tried to do it an easier way with this code in the page.php:

<?php if (!is_page(‘Calendar’)) : ?>
<?php get_sidebar(); ?>
<?php endif; ?>

But I get this at the page:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘?’, expecting ‘)’ in /home/iamswa5/public_html/ggc/wp-content/themes/eGamer/page.php on line 69

Did you copy your code correctly? I’m seeing weird quote characters around ‘Calendar’ in the above code. Your first code example didn’t work properly because you opened a brace up after the ‘else’ but then never closed it and also didn’t close the open PHP tag to output HTML. Still not quite sure what you want to do.

Thank you! I copy pasting from a website and the quotes were messed up. Works great now.
