Photoshop vs. photoshop extended

i am having a hard time finding a chart comparing photoshop to photoshop extended (CS5 preferably, but older version comparisons would be good too).

I know in the extended version generally has more features, but im looking to see exactly which features. I am especially wondering if photoshop non-extended implies that you can’t script it with javascript and if it has less filter tools?

Thanks for any help!

I think ps extended is the only version, i could be wrong though.

I read an article about what’s unique in PS extended version when I was planning to buy my CS4 software!
Here’s it: http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/2007/03/whats_unique_to_photoshop_extended.html
I think it is a good read! I hope this helps you!

It is weird that Adobe doesn’t make it clearer on their website - even in the section that compares the two versions! They’ve certainly done a better job in the past. Essentially the only difference is the presence of extra 3D tools in the Extended version.

From here

Get all the state-of-the-art editing, compositing, and painting capabilities in industry-standard Adobe Photoshop CS5 software plus tools that let you create and enhance 3D images and motion-based content.

If you don’t need that functionality then I wouldn’t bother getting the extended version. The standard version is fully capable of everything else. The limited/cut down version of Photoshop is Photoshop Elements.
