Other ways to accomplish a .htaccess file when you don't have access to root file

Hi: Thinking of getting a shopify site and cart. I have always had a .htaccess file to block bots and ip addresses but shopify does not give you access to the root, like godaddy does. Any suggestion on java or html coding that I can place in the footer? Allow, deny coding? Rewrite rule coding? Thx so much.

Hi Susan. Welcome to the forums.

What are you really trying to achieve? I would think that blocking nefarious activity would be a part of what Shopify offers, but I don’t know for sure. Perhaps it’s worth asking them about this.

That is shopify’s problem – enjoy SAAS and stop worrying.
