Opera Portal-style social media icons

I wasn’t sure whether to ask this in the Graphics forum, but I’m just looking for graphics rather than making them…

I just saw some really nice social media icons and I would like to find something very similar that I can legitimately use on my site.

The “upgrade” page of the Opera Portal, which pops up whenever Opera is updated, has some very nice icons, like the example at http://www.opera.com/bitmaps/icons/social/v3/button-rss.png. You can see them used at http://www.opera.com/portal/upgrade (might only load in Opera, though: it redirected when I viewed it in Firefox.) They are grey, with an inset appearance.

I have looked around a bit at collections of icons, but without success. Have you seen anything that would suit?

There’s lots of stuff similar to that online. I find I just google various word combinations until something comes up. for example, just searching “gray social icons” hits on sites like this:

Versatile Gray – A Social Media Icon Set - Visual Swirl Design Resources | Visual Swirl Design Resources

Not sure how exactly like that image you want the icons (do they need to be round?) but I’m sure you should be able to find something appropriate. (Mind you, that icon you linked to doesn’t look too hard to replicate, and I’m not that good at Photoshop/Illustrator, either, but I would probably do it myself and then not worry about copyright.)

Thanks, ralph. I don’t really mind if I find round icons or square with rounded corners: either is good. But I like that subtle inset style: I’ve never seen that in an icon before.

It’s not something that I could ever hope to replicate. If you want me to sculpt or paint, that’s fine, but I have zero skill with anything that combines art with pixels! Or, indeed, the kind of software that can make good graphics.
