Npm install gives error in laravel 5.6

npm install gives the following error message:

ETXTBSY: text file is busy, rename ‘/home/vagrant/code/Kissidef/node_modules/laravel-mix/node_modules/babel-preset-env/node_modules/babel-plugin-transform-async-to-generator/package.json.863740906’ → ‘/home/vagrant/code/Kissidef/node_modules/laravel-mix/node_modules/babel-preset-env/node_modules/babel-plugin-transform-async-to-generator/package.json’

Another error appears when the above renaming is done.

Any suggested solution will be appreciated.

What is the other error?

I still have the following error even with npm install --no-bin-links:
npm ERR! path /home/vagrant/code/Kissidef/node_modules/babel-plugin-transform-exponentiation-operator/package.json.192526015

Using laravel Homestead in a Win 10 system

I don’t recall having ever seen that error myself. But I have gotten “in use” errors before at times when I had a file open in one application and tried to open it with another application. IIRC, it has even happened when the file wasn’t opened but my explorer was opened to it’s location in the filesystem. And also when a file was in an opened application as a “recent”.

Maybe nothing at all to do with your problem, but if you have edited or navigated to a file try to make sure all of those are disassociated and closed down.

Delete the node_modules folder and run again the command npm install
