Can anyone please tell me what this notation means in LDAP ( Light Weight Directory Protocol ) ?
dn: ou=newgroup,dc=example,dc=com
Example
DN = distinguished name
OU= organizational unit
DC = ?
What DC means ?
I understand this is not a LDAP forum . Will appreciate if any one have any idea of this notation .
It stands for Domain Component.

okay…I see that example now…very nice.
But how come there could be multiple DC in a LDAP search … domain should be only one …right?
example is using DC=gp,DC=gl,DC=google,DC=com
Is it possible there could be multiple domain components in an organization …I dont understand this part.
