I see a notification (upper right corner) that there is a new post on a thread, but when going to the thread I don’t see it.
This is the thread:
And notification is about gandalf458 post, and the only posts I see in there are mine, and cpradio’s
It’s not the first time I experience something like this, though is the first time postin about it.
Am I going totally blind, or missing something?

Can you take a screenshot of the notification? I’m curious what it looks like.
I don’t see any post by @Gandalf in the thread.
Maybe he added one then deleted it.
Nope, not from what I can tell. But it is hard to say without being able to see the notification.
Oh, I bet you got the notification that @Gandalf liked your post (your last response in that topic), visit the topic, the scroll down to the bottom and click the 2 Liked text.
Ooops … Most probably you are right … there is a heart next to it!
Never paid attention to the icons.

Oops - so I did.
And the envelope for a PM, and the sort-of star shape for a badge (they don’t come along that often)…
