New Member – Looking for Guidance to Get Started

Hi everyone,

I am new here on the SitePoint Community and really excited to join. Iam looking forward to learning, sharing ideas and connecting with others who are into web development and design.

However, I am not quite sure where to begin on the forum. Could someone point me in the right direction? Are there any must-read threads or beginner guides you recommend?

It all depends on what you’re hoping for. I joined years ago when I was trying to learn proper HTML and CSS so I spent quite a lot of time in those areas of the forum, first of all just reading topics and then, in a small way, responding to some posts if they were basic enough for me to do so. More recently I’ve been trying to learn PHP and so I concentrate on that forum to pick up ideas and make the odd suggestion from time to time.

Thanks a lot for the reply that really helps

I am also starting out with HTML and CSS so it is encouraging to hear how you got started by just reading through topics and gradually joining in. I will definitely take a similar approach and spend more time exploring those sections first.

PHP is on my list to learn as well so it is good to know the forum is active in that area too. Appreciate you sharing your journey it gives me a better idea of how to get going.
