I am trying to host my mvc application in the iis server but it is showing the files list in the folder instead of the start controller that i am using in the Routeconfig.cs so what to do? and how to create start page for the mvc applications?
Sounds like either a) the server is not set up to serve MVC or b) you’re missing a config file.
Or it isn’t setup to serve .NET at all (most likely culprit).
I thought about that, but I thought that pretty much had to be explicitly done anymore in the last couple versions of iis (i,e, it was turned on by default)
You would think. Though I did discover Windows 10 has a lot of .NET disabled by default, so depending on whether he is running an actual server versus Windows 8/10, hard to say. I had to help a consultant work through getting our environment up and running and we had to track down where to enable all of the .NET, IIS, WCF configurations.
This is the first error i got so commented the module in the web config then this problem solved but the file are listing instead of opening the application.
this is my file structure
web config file
