Hi! Migrating to WordPress isn’t too hard with a good theme—especially with page builders like Elementor.
It depends on how much you want to migrate. It’s not difficult, but you might face to many small jobs. The site is using HTML5Blank theme, which is quite old, and I don’t think the project is still alive.
As you mentioned that the site is not well designed, you might also want to unify all formats acrossing the posts and pages. Don’t jump into a page builder immediately, otherwise you will end up with different styles in different pages.
If I were you, I would do a site audit, decide which parts are kept, which parts can be deleted. For the keeping parts, are you happy with the page structure? Are those pages using the same style? Or will you need to setup a style for all pages first…
Usually, I suggest to code CSS with a child theme. It will help you to avoid troubles when updating the theme. But if you are not familiar with coding, have you any plan to co-operate with a developer, who can help you to setup the theme with all formats, styles… The developer can help with code optimizing for SEO, for example, minimize the code, alt-text for images, etc. Then you focus on your SEO-related tasks. It would be better than you do everything yourself
Some notes, that you might know already:
- the site speed is quite slow.
- the cookie banner is not good enough, you need a better solution.
Thank you so much! Really helpful your answer.
I will follow your advice, doing a site audit to start
Hi! Migrating a site to a WordPress theme isn’t too difficult, especially with page builders like Elementor or WPBakery—no coding needed. You can format text easily within the WordPress editor by using the built-in formatting options (like bold, headings, lists) and adjusting fonts, spacing, etc., through the theme customizer or a page builder. Just choose a responsive, SEO-friendly theme to start with, and you’ll have more control over design and content.
