Need Help about Social Media Marketing

It all depends on how you want to brand yourself too, and how active you will actually be on social. You can be on twitter and pintrest, but if you have limited updates, then this will be a waste of time and focus. I would suggest you focus more on content marketing and less on social media marketing (but don’t forget about it entirely). It feels like you don’t have a good, clear idea of your branding aspirations and marketing campaign yet, so I would work on that first. Figure out how you want to present your company to the public and represent that on your website in a well-thought-out way. And then sit down and consider what you actually want to get out of a social media marketing campaign, which should help you narrow down the focus. Ultimately it depends a lot on who you are targeting. Just saying the UK isn’t really helpful, because that is too wide and general. Who will be using your service, and what kinds of social platforms is this target demographic using? It’s never just as simple as saying “these social platforms are good”. The social platform is only as good as the user and their purpose for using it. Sit down and really put together a social media campaign and strategy and once it is clear in your head, you will know which avenues to engage.

OK, so if your fleet has some unique types of cars (stretched limos or stretched Jeeps!) and you want to show them off, then you’ll want to use Instagram and other image-specific sites to wow the customer and lure them in. Will your efforts focus on images? Then start with Instagram. However, Instagram is mostly for image-building, not customer-grabbing. There are few or no links in Instagram.

However, it’s a good idea to have a good site for your business already set up so that any social media you start up will point back to the site for more information.

If you offer a lot of deals each week on your rentals, or lots of news, then Facebook and Twitter would be good to start with. Again, the full details should be on your web site, and your socials will point to the page for more info where necessary.

If you have a wide range of vehicles, you might do a Pinterest page. There, you’ll shoot pictures of your cars and the cool people who ride in them, and post them in a category appropriate to those cars. Clicking on any of those cars should take them to your website to rent them.

If you are appealing to the college or high school types, then you should go around the campuses and simply talk to the people to find out what social media they are using. On-the-ground research is good!

I hope these pointers help you develop a feel for what you want to do.
