Name that flick/media/source

I’m gonna post a quote, others guess where it’s from. Honor system, no copy and search on the quotations.

This one is pretty long:
“Well, I believe in the soul, the ****, the *****, the small of a woman’s back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days.”

From what I understand it was quite popular/controversial. In 1987 when it was released I was 15 and remember watching some of it with my Dad. Though I had no idea what it was about and frankly didn’t care at that time. It’s impossible to find a copy of it (sans some bootlegs on ebay)

I will go ahead and end the suspense. It was a TV mini series called Amerika. (not a totally accurate description of the film) Here is the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZy6SDrdyOM Here is the quote from above: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbRHt5GCGes

Just substitute the Russians with globalist bankers and you’ve got what is happening today. Too political? :shifty: :stuck_out_tongue:

Juliette Lewis is in this as well!

Hmmm…at first I thought it was Natural Born Killers, but that’s not right. It’s close, but not the same. :shifty:

I had to cheat. :shifty:

After finding the source - I had heard of it, but it wasn’t something I’d have sought out at 16.

Bull Durham

I’ll keep it going with this quote:

“We are the voice of the new generation. We are the voice of the new people. The destructive ways of the past are gone. We will replace them with our vision of the future. The Party will lead us to the new age. There have been those who have tried to stop the new age. They are the corrupt reminder of the past. They have tried to confuse us with the idea that the old America was a good country. We know that lie. History teaches us that lie. We are grateful to our Soviet brothers who saved the world from destruction, and we can now join them in a world of socialist brotherhood. Everyone will go to school, everyone will have a job, everyone will be equal. No one will exploit or be exploited, and all those who oppose this wonderful vision will be crushed.”

Guys, this is serious stuff… I’m afraid that I haven’t got a clue :frowning:

I assume that Ben’s quote are somehow recent since they talk about America and I don’t think that Stalin or Lenin worried about America much. But I don’t think that is a recent as Putin

edit: I know, I know, if I google probably I’d know the answer

Aha! So you know where he took it from but you don’t want to tell us!

Wow - obscure quote from Ben - there are people here that wouldn’t have even been alive when it was saidused. (how many people actually watched that anyways? 10?)

Man, that was a tough one Partch! I never woulda got it!

Okay

I think you know the difference between right and wrong…I think you just don’t care

Errr…possibly… but if it is too political, you’ve just got away with murder :stuck_out_tongue:
