My Verification and Other Emails Go To Spam

Hi All

Any help or advise with this issue would be great… we are building a new website system and the verification email keeps going to spam… some of the other system emails are also going to spam.

Someone said that there are websites that I can register with to say that we send a lot of emails and they are not spam but I can’t find anything when Googling… anyone know anything about this?

Also what is the best way to make sure my system emails get to someone’s inbox and not to spam.

Thanks for any help.

It sounds like that person was talking about a cloud based, on-demand email service. I would suggest using a service that will help you send large volumes of transactional and marketing messages. There are plenty of great services out there. Here are three.

  1. SocketLabs - http://socketlabs.com [disclaimer - I work for them ]

  2. AWS Web Services - https://aws.amazon.com/

  3. Sparkpost - https://www.sparkpost.com/

This is a really complex question to answer because there are so many factors. Here’s a list of factors to focus on:

  • Send to people who opt-in. Double-opt-in is the safest.

  • Write engaging emails that get opened and clicked.

  • Segment your lists and only send relevant messages to people. Also, at some point, you’ll want to consider removing people who haven’t engaged with you in awhile. I would suggest moving inactive users into a special re-engagement segment.

  • Use a Supression list so you don’t continue to send to bounce addresses or spam traps.

  • Use a good tool that will allow you to measure complaints, bounces, and unsubscribes.

Hope that helps
