Must Know Apache Directives

Apache users: TechRepublic has a good article on the 10 must know Apache directives at 10 Must Know Apache Directives and Modules.

That’s more understandable than most things I’ve read on Apache. I like the way he gives some simple examples in the early paragraphs. Make it so much more meaningful!

Thanks David.

Ralph,

You’re welcome!

Personally, I find the PHP website the best for helping to delve into the coding with Apache running second only because I’ve got to start at their Home Page to use their search facility. I can speak “geek” so I’m not put off as most people would be but have to admit that The Apache Foundation is almost as bad as Sir Tim Berners-Lee’s Uniform Resource Identifiers (URI): Generic Syntax. Okay, that’s definitely a geek speak document but, if you understand BNF, you can wade through it for some excellent information (and the cause of some weird problems with mod_rewrite that some members have generated).

I hope that article will help others who will then use Apache.org for more detailed guides and examples.

DK
