Microsoft releases patch for newest IE bug

I’ve NOT been a fan of M$'s online apps (IE and Outlook/Outlook Express … and IIS) for too many years to admit but this article, Microsoft releases patch for newest IE bug, at TechRepublic only demonstrates why my security issues are not to be taken lightly. Rather than begin a new rant favoring FireFox or Chrome, let me just remind members that IE is tightly integrated with WinDoze so you need to update even if you are using “a good (secure and DOM-compliant) browser.”

DK

What’s interesting is that Microsoft have decided to make the patch available for XP users as well, even though XP support has officially ended. I’m not sure if that’s because of customer pressure, or because they think this threat is sufficiently serious to justify exceptional action.

Keep in mind–Microsoft is still supporting XP for paying customers on a limited basis. I’m guessing they simply released the patch from that channel to the public channel.

Good point.
