I was wondering if SitePoint members can tell me if your country celebrates something similar to Memorial Day in the U.S.
(Memorial Day honors men and women who died serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.)
If so, then…
What is it called?
When does it occur?
In the U.S., Memorial Day occurs every year on the last Monday in May.
Sincerely,
Debbie
In the UK we have Remembrance day which takes place on Armistice day, the date and time WW1 ended in 1918 - “the 11th hour of the 11 day of the 11th month”. It is still observed throughout the British Commonwealth countries (and ex commonwealth countries), as well as similar observances in other countries around the same time.
