MAMP Emails Not Sending

Hi,

Just a quick one, wondering if anyone else has/is experiencing the same problem. I wrote a PHP Email Blast which was working perfectly, I sent out 7,500 email newsletter around two weeks ago - all sent as intented.

Tried sending a test email but they are not coming through. MAMP Pro seems to be not sending ANY emails at all. Anyone got any idea why this could be? As I mentioned, everything was working perfectly.

I sent all of the emails from MAMP rather than from a webhost due to the large number of emails, my host allows only 200 per hours - taking a long, long time to send 7,500. With MAMP, I was able to send them all in around three hours.

Appreciate any thoughts or help.

If this was from your local computer, your ISP probably banned you from sending e-mails or your IP was added to DNSRBLs or some combination of the two.

This is sort of the reason why people sign up and pay for services that send out mass e-mails.

Yes, they were sent from my computer - I’m now thinking perhaps this wasn’t one of my brightest ideas. I think employing the services of one of these mass email services could be useful as you mentioned. Is there anyway I can be removed from this banned list?

Am I able to send out to around 8,000 email address through my website? Is this something I would have to speak to my hosting company? Would this effect my ISP and block me?
