Looks like yahoo site explorer is misleading

When I enter my complete url “http://www.mydomain.com”, I got 356 inlinks but when I enter “http://www.mydomain.com/how-to-blah-bla/”, I got 65,456 inlinks!

The second result is pretty correct because I promoted that specific article well and besides, it is posted in more than a dozen of thousand blogs. I’m just wondering why the inlinks are not detected by just entering the main URL?!

Any idea?

Thanks

The “index” is implicit? i.e. 2 different pages, 2 different results, the “short URL” is not links to your site.

Each page will have its own backlinks. Google ranks a page not a site so whatever backlinks you got for you homepage it doesn’t necessarily mean that your other pages has the same amount of backlinks too.

65,456 Backlinks, WOW!!!

Are they quality backlinks? If not then they are worthless.

Maybe only 30% are quality…

Then only 30% are usefull, rest are useless try to get rid of those links because they give’s bad impacts.

I learned a lot for this website… I found out that giving time to writing content than promotion is more productive…
