Looking for a better CMS

I am looking for a better CMS to use.

I would like something with integrated Forum, Gallery, Calendar and backup, so that when I have to update it, I won’t have to rewrite scripts.

It would also be nice if it’s super easy to use out of the box, so I don’t have to spend a lot of time on it. I am getting to old to have to learn a new program every year and just want something I can stick with long term and not have to constantly tweak or change.

Also, we want to host it on our own server and db, instead of having any part of it on another server.

I guess I need to add a bit more about what I am looking for.
I used Geeklog for over a year and really liked it, because our members could upload their own photo’s and add content to the calendar, without everything having to come through me. ( I used other admins to authorize the content.)
Then I upgraded to a newer version for security reasons and they had eliminated some of the features I liked, so I switched to Wordpress.
Now, I find they come out with an update about every month either for the main program or one of the add on’s and every update requires me to change some of the pages that have custom scripts and I just don’t have the time for all that.

I would look at Drupal 7: http://drupal.org/. You may have to install a few modules to reach your desired level of functionality, but it is pretty dead-on simple.

I second on the Drupal suggestion.

I use Drupal for all of what you describe.

The integrated forum is always a tricky one, even with the best CMS systems, usually it will involve a bridge of some sort to include a forum… some are more reliable than others.

Open source: Joomla, Drupal, Wordpress are such examples and can all be configured with a forum and various addons as you need.

Commercial: Expression Engine has an addon forum that you can purchase and my CMS, Subdreamer CMS comes with and included forum or integrates seamlessly with vb, phpbb, ipb or smf.
