Linkedin is the favorite destination for recruiters than face book

Linkedin is the favorite destination for recruiters than face book.
A statistics says that 80% of companies use social media for recruitment and 95 % of these use linkedin.

Linkedin is more focused and mainly attract professionals, while face book is more general and informal, is that the reason why recruiters prefer Linkedin more than face book?

Yes, indeed! LinkedIn is the world’s largest professional network. It also allows us to establish professional profile, find experts and ideas, stay in touch with colleagues and friends as well as explore opportunities. However, facebook has a lot of privacy issues. So might as well, I’ll go for LinkedIn for my social network.

Linkedin is considered to be the better platform than any other social networking platform, as it is very professional and beneficial in terms of getting more approach in terms of growing business.

I always prefer this as an essential part in growing or getting better prospects.

Yes because linkedin has (almost) all professionals while facebook is a mix of all professions. Also on linkedin, you can add your work history, experience, and recommendations to your profile.

I am in a professional career and use LinkedIn extensively to keep in touch with colleagues and to get a sense for hiring trends in the industry. Also, when I am looking to hire there is no better collection of relevant employee data than on LinkedIn. I have not logged on to facebook in months…

LinkedIn is certainly a powerful networking tool. It might get used more by recruiters, but then that’s essentially why you register on it is it not?
I had its power illustrated to me the other day. I work in a specialised area that few recruiters understand and I got tapped up through LI by a headhunter who had used the site to find people in this narrow niche. Very impressive investigating I thought.

well that’s good. I just have seen users alter the purpose of sites by using them for purposes other than what was intended. however, the world wide web is a place of freedom, i suppose.

I personally have not used LinkedIn before…sounds like a good site. I do wonder, however, if perhaps in the not-too-distant future the purpose behind LinkedIn will change completely. As it is an online community-oriented type of site, do you as a user believe this site will attract less professional-type people and turn into a site much like our friendly Facebook? If so, how might this affect recruiters?

no worries there, it won’t. there’s no other purpose to be on LinkedIn than to network.

linkedin is a good site wherein most professional people gathered there…no wonder most business prefer using it to reach out business professional…

What i like in LinkedIn is that i can check and update my profile or add some contact and connections as long as i want while in Facebook it was only focused on a current event and i feel guilty if you i don’t keep up on this.

Linkedin is more for professional people, that’s why recruiters had turned out more for Linkedin, other ways Facebook, is completely social , where you will find people posting genral information…

From the prospect of recruiting LinkedIn is unparalleled owing to the fact the profile in LinkedIn are more career oriented asking you to fill for you working field, area of expertise, job experience and so on.

it’s because on LinkedIn, you publish career relevant information and engage in skills & knowledge-based discussions. This makes it easier for recruiters to identify whether a person fits their person specifications, the most important aspect of recruitment.

Facebook on the other hand provides you an insight into the personality of a person. This is still important but not quite as much as the above.
