Is there any html code that will launch the default email client (like thunderbird) instead of Outlook Express in the client’s computer when he clicks on the ‘Contact Us’ button?
Unfortunately there is no way for this to happen - It’s all based on what email client is set as the default in the browser settings.
In my computer, the default one is thunderbird but when I click on the contact us button in the contact us page of the site I am designing now, it launches outlook express.
acummins, that’s probably because the mailto protocol is a proprietary pseudo-protocol created by Microsoft. You could change it manually in Vista / Win7 though the manage associations control panel item but you can’t control the end users machine, essentially you’re stuck with what the PC or user decides.
