This is probably a silly question, I just watched a quick demo video from one of Kevin’s javascirpt live tutorials, and was wondering what text/code editor he is using in those videos? Thanks for your help.
He’s using TextMate, a Mac-only editor. 
There is also a windows clone of TextMate called E-TextEditor
