Just link or 301 - that is the question?

Hi all,

Perhaps someone can shed some light on what I should do. I have 2 websites - ecommerce sites. However there is a section ‘LCD Screens’ http://tinyurl.com/3x9guux that needs to point to my other site as I have a whole other site dedicated to screens.

Now the question is, do I get http://tinyurl.com/3x9guux and 301 redirect it to my main site or do I just leave the current site how it is and put links through?

Cheers

As the current page serves as nothing but a gateway page, I would put a redirect on it. Every step in the process will lose some customers, because they don’t see the link to click on, or just can’t be bothered. Make it as easy as possible for people to get through the purchase process. Putting a gateway page in there is a sure-fire way to reduce sales.

Another great way to reduce sales is to put lots of company logos on the page and have them linking to exactly where the user is now (ie, doing nothing). If I hit that page as a regular customer, I would see the logo for the brand I wanted and click on it. Then I would click on it again. I might try clicking on it a third time. Then I would go back to wherever I was before without even seeing the small link text at the top.

I would live it as it is. I would only chage anchor text from laptop screens australia to laptop screens. Better SERP for that keyword.

Laptop screens australia have been searched 91 times last month and laptop screens 110 000 times.
