It depends on the certification and how you plan to use it. There are programs as meaningless as maing up your own and some that are required for particular fields like cisco installations or the likes.

Being a certified in IT field is a big factor or a big plus in applying for a position related to it.
This is not mandatory to everyone who’s on the IT field. To be one, check out if the certification exam is available in your place, some of them has payment for you to take. Once you are up, review and study hard.
I used to take the Java Programming Certification Exam, unfortunately I failed.
I’m lack of experience, knowledge about twist and turns of the language, that’s the main reason.
Still I give it a shot and preparing for another shot. :slight_smile:

First choose which vertical of IT you wish to be in, Hardware? Programming? Marketing?
