Hi
I’m trying to produce a licence for an image for a client, however, istockphoto does not seem to have a place to get receipts for images, just for “top up” payments. The Digital Files tab is empty and there does not seem to be anywhere else they could reside.
I find it hard to believe it doesn’t supply them, given that it’s owned by uber-litigious getty images.
Or maybe it makes a great deal of sense…
Any thoughts?
Cheers
The inability to definitively prove you have a valid licence is certainly a weakness in the iStockPhoto admin system, especially since they were bought out by Getty!
Personally I open a new iStockPhoto account for each new client, in their name, and ask them to charge it up with credits themselves. That way at least there is a detailed online record of their paid download images, including licence type, accessible via Accounts>> View Downloads
It seems to be the best proof of purchase that is available at the moment.

Surely you could provide them with a receipt with the date, your account ID, the image number and a receipt ID (if one was provided).
