Yes, try the pencil link to the right of the title.
No there isn’t - just because someone gave you A solution doesn’t mean it is the best solution. The next person to post may provide you with an entirely different and far superior solution.
Alternatively someone may post more information to help those with similar but not completely identical problems that outlines where your solution may be appropriate and what other solutions may be appropriate in other similar cases. After all everyone (is supposed to) search the forum to see whether their question has already been answered before they re-post the same question that has been asked dozens of times before.

The forum does not have a “Mark as solution” feature, but there is a like button for answers you like. You can edit and add to the title to say “Solved” as John says.
Only Moderators can close a thread. Threads are closed automatically after a period of inactivity, 3 months IIRC.

And keep in mind that you might not be able to edit the title, depending how much time has passed since when you started it and when it was solved.
But I definitely encourage using the Like button to signify who/which post helped you out.
