Is it the right judgment to avoid social media platforms for reducing website's bounce rate?

Hello friends! Nowadays, I’ve found a number of bounce rate in my website and I’ve seen maximum of them through social media platforms such as StumbleUpon. So, should I avoid them properly or what is your opinion, please?

“Bounce rate” is just an indication of how many visitors arrived on a page of your site and then left without visiting any other pages. It is not necessarily a negative indication; it may mean that those visitors arrived on exactly the right page to find the information they wanted, and they left again happy, with no need to look further.

When we need to reduce bounce rate and get potential clients then what do you think… ?

I’m not sure I understand your question. Why would bounce rate affect potential clients? How would they know about it?

Or are you saying that you’re trying to use sites like StumbleUpon to attract new clients, but you’re seeing only a high bounce rate from there and no conversions?

The question (or the perceived problem) does not make sense to me.
If I understand you, you want to decrease bounce rate by removing a source of traffic to your site. As if the bounce rate is somehow more important than the number of overall visitors.
I would say anything that is driving (real) traffic to your site is a positive thing. Even if most traffic from that source bounces or does not make a conversion or whatever your goals, the minority that do make it worthwhile.

Thanks TechnoBear! You are near to my query!!

Nice to see your review, SamA74 ! I’m just thinking to make a final report to show others.

Everything said above is valid but I will insist on the need of understanding what’s going on and why you’re getting that bounce rate.

If the reason is that they found what they wanted, you can simply entice them to read/view other areas.
If the reason is that they don’t find anything interesting then, or it is not acomplishing its main goal, you will have to change the page. Is the call-to-action visible enough? Placed in the right area? Does the text describe truthfully and clearly what’s about and what they user has to do?

A little bit of A/B test could do some good (that means creating two version of the page, slightly different and see what works and what doesn’t)

Nice to meet you molona! Everything what you said, It is important to everyone who care about web page. As I know today in this era, everyone, more or less are going to keep an active role on this regard. Nevertheless, Thanks for your suggestion… specially for A/B test idea.

In my opinion, a low bounce rate means that whichever visitors you are getting to your website are surfing around for more than a 30sec to a minute (everyone has different opinion) meaning they intended to get here or they got the right information although this is not necessary that this should happen and a high bounce rate means the visitors are unknowingly been directed to your website or the the visitor is not surfing for any more than a few seconds. Social media platforms should never be avoided as they the main reason behind the social traffic besides the natural traffic. Users around the world are more active on social media platforms than on any other hence we should not avoid them despite the bounce rate. Reduction in bounce rate can be done using other off-page activities.
