Hi Friends,
I’m doing seo for one of my client. He has assigned me to rank 14 keywords for single webpage url. (i.e) Client wants to rank his 14 keywords pointing to single page url only. Is it possible to rank all 14 keywords? Need your suggestion pls…
Yes it is possible, it all depends on your page authority. example if you site is Pr 7 and having good content may be more than 500 words with a wide variety of your keywords. keyword anchor links should come with all the keyword combinations. then it is possible. but it may take long time but still it is achievable.
I don’t have PR 7 backlink site and If i add 14 keywords anchor links on PR 7 page, does it worth for my keyword ranking?
Hey,
It won’t, doesn’t matter the site is a Pr7.
The first external link in a page has like 80% of the power. The second link in the page has like 10%,
and the rest of the juice spreads between all the other links.
The less external links in a page, the more power each one has.
Not to mention that pagerank matters so much less after the last google updates.
I am not talking about PR of backlink, but your own site Page rank. do your site have strong authority in Google. How old your site is, what are back links count, page rank of site and how about content?
If the page is good enough, and is relevant to all 14 terms, then yes it is entirely possible – especially if those words are all closely related. Is it easy to achieve that? It depends on the site, the content, the competitiveness of the keywords, but it probably won’t be easy.
There is a possibility, but do take note that this isn’t something that you can instantly achieve. It’s going to take time before you’ll be able to rank for all of those keywords, especially if you’re against a pretty tough competition.
I’ve read one thread in SP forum, there one guy said “targetting 3 keywords per page is good for SEO. If we target more keywords on same page it’ll be consider as spam”. Is this true?
No, it’s just the usual arrant nonsense that gets peddled in the IM forum, and we don’t always get round to correcting and refuting things that are so obviously wrong. A page might target a single keyword or it might be relevant to 10 – it depends on the page and the context, and there’s no magic number that says “this is OK but that is bad”.
If you have a look at some of Google’s guidelines, you’ll find this:
Another illicit practice is to place “doorway” pages loaded with keywords on the client’s site somewhere. The SEO promises this will make the page more relevant for more queries. This is inherently false since individual pages are rarely relevant for a wide range of keywords.
They do not say there is a specific number of keywords considered acceptable per page, simply that it’s unlikely that one page will be relevant for a whole host of keywords. That’s in line with the answers you’ve already received here. It’s simply a case of using common sense.
Precisely why is your client trying to rank just one page for 14 different keywords? And if he’s your client, employing you for your SEO expertise, shouldn’t you be explaining to him that this is a really bad strategy, rather than simply going along with it? Offer him sound methods to obtain good results, rather then try to live up to his unrealistic demands.
In my experience, 3-4 Keywords are right for each page, But after Penguin upadates, Google want Only 1 keyword for each page. Follow daily new tactics for website, Mostly focus on particular keyword which is proper for your website.
I didn’t realise that that google gives 80% priority to the first keyword on a page and subsequent ones receive massively less. How did you find this out?
