My question is for those who are working search engine optimization for their website. If we talking about Off-Page activities in SEO then why we ignore the “Directory Submission” ?
I have seen lots of website who get the till good traffic from directory sites submitted by 4 to 5 years ago. But now we didn’t doing directory submission. Why?
Do you think your potential customers are likely to use directories to find a business? If so, then it would be worth being listed in reputable directories. If you think they are more likely to simply search online, then being listed in directories is probably a waste of time.
You need to ensure you only use reputable directory sites, as low-quality directories are among the sites Google lists as in its guidelines on link schemes:
Additionally, creating links that weren’t editorially placed or vouched for by the site’s owner on a page, otherwise known as unnatural links, can be considered a violation of our guidelines. Here are a few common examples of unnatural links that may violate our guidelines:
- Low-quality directory or bookmark site links
No directory submission is not banned. But avoid using low authority sites. Just use the top sites to submit your site.
I have done “Directory Submission” for my site and they are still effective. It depends which site you are using.
As the OP hasn’t returned to this topic since posting, it seems pointless to revive it now.
