IP Detection - How do I should different prices depending on IP?

Hello,

We have a Wordpress site that where we want to show our prices in the local currency depending on where they are from. I was told it has to do with IP detection.

I don’t know where to start on something like this and at the very least, I am looking for some direction as to what questions to ask when hiring a freelancer. How do you do this?

Hmmm. Might it not be better and easier to use the HTTP Accept-Language headers?

I have no idea how that would work…what would the benefits and/or limitations be?

My thinking was that there would be less languages than IPs and IPs are those of the ISP not necessarily the user’s country.

As for easier, scratch that. If there’s a plugin all ready to drop in, it can’t get much easier than that.

I was later wondering if the language code would necessarily reflect the user’s country accurately.

So I guess the best would be to use the IP based plugin and if it doesn’t initially show the user’s currency provide a way to switch to it, which the plugin does.
