Internet Explorer users have lower IQ says study

An interesting story on the BBC website:

BBC News - Internet Explorer users have lower IQ says study

A research company gave 100,000 people IQ tests and then plotted the results against their browser choice.

According to the study, IE surfers were found to have an average IQ lower than people using Chrome, Firefox and Safari. Users of Camino and Opera rated highest.

IE ‘supporters’ are threatening ‘legal action’ etc etc…

It doesn’t say who commissioned the survey.

So, is it ‘lies, damned lies and statistics’, or is it a case of ‘no smoke without fire’? It’s a funny story, whatever the truth…

SitePoint already did an article about it. It’s Official: IE Users Have a Lower IQ! » SitePoint
The study was performed by a company called AptiQuant, but I don’t know why.

I’m completely unsure of both
a) WHY this study is even remotely useful
b) How this IQ thing was tested.

Unfortunately ye olde spidey sense is tingling; I smell a directed outcome or a seriously flawed study.
That said, it is entertaining, I’ll second that.

Funny, nevertheless

you were right, and sitepoint got duped along with many others

I knew that. I use IE… :goof:

maybe believing in this kind of news says more about the readers, than about the IQ of the IE users…
