International flight booking how?

We have made a travel system
different pacakages are shown and user can select and book pacakage using paypal…and all

now we want to sell tickets online…
for that we need to check airlines database if tickets are available or not…what are their prices and so on

how is it done…
i have heard about abacus and all…so called big travel compaines…
do they provide any api to access their database

how is it done
we have seen lots of travel portal doing it…
any idea?

thanks for research
but that system seems to deal with airplane or flight stat(where is plane now) rather than ticketing of the plan or seats available…
thier api cost is also high…for even that

any way thanks…
any other help?

maybe?

I’ve never dealt with this industry so just going off some research that is what I found. I did run a search for some popular airway providers such as; delta, united, etc and didn’t come across any type of developer api. It seems like sites such as; expedia may be working directly with the airline providers to provide the data. Either that or perhaps using the above system? It would actually be interesting to know if there is an open API for this type of data from someone who has worked in the industry just for future reference. If you come up short maybe call the particular airway provider your interested in and asked them. Maybe they will tell something or at least let you know if its possible without working with them directly through a contract to provide the data.

In the past I had some experience working in the travel industry, most of what I did back then was through SABRE. I’m sure they have an API that would help you integrate it with your application.

This may point you in the right direction…
