Thought I would ask a question here for a change to see what others think of an issue Ive just noticed with one of my sites…It’s mainly to do with Wordpress but does encroach on-page SEO also so feel free to move the topic if it needs to be filed under a different category.
I have 2 websites, one in English and the other in Spanish, I imported my data from the English to the Spanish site ready for translation, all good so far, problem I have just noticed is that all of my images contained in the body of the articles are all internally linking back to the original images on the English site. (Spanish is installed in a sub folder /es/)
I have already made up my mind that I’m going to fix this as I could really do with renaming all the image file names to their Spanish names (image search is important for my site and brings me a lot of traffic to my English site)
As this is the first time I have come across this I wanted to ask the community what impact this may be having on my site, I can’t imagine it will be positive but I’m equally unsure it will be negative… Would be really great to see what some of the experts think about this…
