Installing Wp

I want to integrate Wp to an existing web app so that I can exploit its blogging functionality.

According to the installation instruction I must create a separate database for it.
My web app already has a database with many tables in it…
Do you think that any issues might arise with 2 databases for one web app…in one database there will be wp and in the other the rest of the tables.

There is also another important consideration that must be added…Should I create a user for the wp database…why not access it with the existing user…the one my web app uses.

You can use the existing database. Just make sure the table prefix makes the table names unique. The default wp_ prefix should be ok unless you already have tables with that prefix in your database

I’ve seen some suggest (the hardening WordPress article?) that not using the default prefix is a good security measure. But that’s security by obscurity so who knows…

first of all…I need to clarify that I have not run the installation script…
Some questions…when running the script can I set the prefix there?

Is there an option also to create the wp tables in an existing database…

Before running the script I just wanted to be sure first…

In the installation script you’ll have to fill in the database details (database host, name, user, pw) and the tables prefix.
