Inserting CSS into sites like eBay

When posting HTML into sites like eBay, what is the best practice for inserting CSS?

Right now, what I’m doing is just embedding the style sheet outside of the head. So like the following:

<style type=“text/css”>
^&*()
</style>
<OUR AUCTION DESCRIPTION>

I guess technically this is faux pas as the stylesheet isn’t being imbedded in the head. However, it seems to get the job done and it seems to do the tricky. Is this the best way? I’m fairly incompetent when it comes to CSS so your help is much appreciated :slight_smile:

I don’t believe there is one good way to style pages within sites as your pretty limited to what you can control from site to site, in my opinion i say if it works and your CSS syntax is valid then why spends hour searching for a best practice that may not exist?

Style elements in the body are invalid but seem to work everywhere and are commonly used in emails to get around email clients stripping the css from the head. I guess that putting the css in the body is your only option for eBay.

I believe there are some restrictions as to what you should style but I have no experience with eBay so can’t confirm.
