Insert Shopping Cart Into Existing Web Page

I need a shopping cart which I can insert into my existing web page. I’m looking for one that can be modified so it has the same look as the rest of my page.
Can anyone recommend a really good cart that is able to look like the example that I made below?

You are going to have to edit the design of an out-of-box cart solution to match your current design or build a custom shopping solution and plug that into your current website. Your shopping cart functionality looks pretty straight forward so I would go the custom route if you have the technical resources available to you.

You could also utilize iframes to load a separately maintained shopping cart site into your current site but I don’t recommend it.

I don’t have the time right now to research how to make a custom shopping cart. What I’m looking for now, are pre-made shopping carts which can be inserted into my page and can be customized.
I know of one or two of such carts, but I would like to know if there are more and which ones you recommend.

Do you have HTML/CSS/JS/PHP coding skills? Or you need something WYSIWYGgy?

I have HTML & CSS coding skills and I know basic Javascript and PHP.

You can use a system like 1SC or ours or
Infusionsoft, etc to accomplish this in an
existing design quite easily.

Here’s a customer’s page that does something
very similar:

http://www.educhiro.com/aud-big-idea-packages.asp

That appears to just be a third party checkout process with a custom header giving the appearance of same branding. It isn’t actually nested inside the companies main website.

It comes close to what I’m after, but just like Gibberish says, it isn’t actually nested inside my website. Not to mention, it’s pretty expensive, $39.97 a month and that’s only the basic package.

Just like my example shows, I only need a simple cart which I can insert into my web page and which I can modify to my liking. Who else knows of such a cart and can recommend one?

I’m pretty sure Avactis can do that. Maybe this layout is not supported out-of-the-box, but their support will definitely add support for this for you for additional fee. Give it a shot anyway.

Thanks vassilevsky, first impression of Avactis is good. But I don’t know if this is the best solution in my case.

I need to find more of these carts, so I am able to compare. Anyone else knows of such a carts?

Yes …100% correct. The final check out
is done on 3rd party cart provider servers
and is not nested on your site.

This is how all the systems like this operate
and there is the downside of leaving the
site but the upside is also the same …leaving
your site.

This means the cart provider has to deal with
the security issues and the advanced functionality
of things like 1 click up sell systems …no one
solution fits every application and if you want to
keep it on your site, this is not the way to go.

So far I have only two carts, that’s not enough to make a serious comparison. Can anyone help me out here?

When you have a semi-custom requirement
like this, you’ll likely need a semi-custom
solution.

Must of the open source carts can not be implemented into an existing shopping cart like avactis. Do anyone know of an open source cart that works like avactis where you can implement it into an existing website?

This is not the only advantage of Avactis platform :slight_smile:

As for any other systems where you can implement it into an existing website, I know only about some widgets, e.g. Google Store Gadget or PayPal buttons.

However these solutions are not SEO friendly.

What would be the first step on starting to integrate avactis in a website? I have been searching on avactis installation but I didn’t quite understood. I read that by only including some methods into the existing pages it would do it?

Can please tell me how to start implementing avactis to a website?

Just include Avactis system file - init.php to any page of your site, after this you will be able to use Avactis Tags, for example <?php SearchForm(); ?> or <?php MiniCart(); ?>. You can even show CMS page this way: <?php CMSPageContent(‘my_cms_page’); ?>.

The other solution is to add your HTML design right to the main template of Avactis.

I have the avactis free version. I guess that beside <?php include(“avactis/init.php”);?> I should copy the whole avactis folder inside the sites folders where all the file pages of the site are? then start including all the avactis files tags

It is not necessary to copy the whole folder, all you need is to add correct path to the init.php script.

<?php

include(“/server_path/avactis/init.php”);

CMSPageContent(“about_my_store”);

?>

Is having a cart on the product page a nuissance to most or is it a benefit. I like to think it is a great benefit for the shopper, however I have heard otherwise.

Please help? Any statistics our there on this?
