Index pages has been reduced after redesigning?

Hi,

Recently I redesigned my site with new menu bar, added new products & new images etc. Just before redesigning I checked my index pages in google at that time it shows 663 pages but now after redeisigning it is showing only 105 pages & also google last crawl date was 26 sept but now its unknown & also my backlinks were 36 (webmaster tool) & now it is showing 33.

What would be the possible reason that my index pages has been reduced?

I’ve seen this with every site re-design we do. Be sure to 301 redirect old URLs to appropriate content on the new site. Typically after 2-8 weeks, I see all of our stuff re-indexed.

How many actual pages do you have on your site?

Have the URLs of all pages stayed the same? If not, are all old URLs being redirected/rewritten to relevant new ones?

Did you submit your site to Google again? If not submit it again and verify your web site, try to acquire more back links to each of your web page.

if your page urls have been changed you have to wait until they get recycled.
i wont be so sure about how many pages google shows indexed though.
