Images not showing correctly in Apple products

Hello,

I hope this question is in the correct section so here we go.

I have a web site and over the last 3 years since It was built by my indian developer there has been issues relating to images often not showing correctly on the screen, there will just be a box with a question mark in and no image.

It has been a ongoing problem for several years actually and even has the same issue in the admin section where we approve images, images will not show or 2 out of 6 images will fail to show, all there will be is a empty box and and question mark. Please see attached screen shots.

Now a little more on this. On a PC all images on site will show perfect using any browser including safari.

When it comes to viewing the site on apple products/ mac book/imac the images often fail to open , I can open the same page on three different i macs and each page will have different images not showing, sometimes worse than other days. Some days just a few do not show, some days many.

It cannot be a problem with any of my apple products as they are new and unto date, and also every other site I view or browse all images show for other sites.

Trying to explain this to my developer is like speaking to a brick wall, I have had the same issue on my site for 3 years, he has now just built a new version ready to upload and the site has the same problem in all Apple products.

Clearly he does not know what to do or has not the experience to solve this? Any tips or advise please?

Is Windows requesting the images case-insensitive but Apple requesting them case sensitive?

Hi, sorry Im not up on the tech side of things(( All I know is it is an ongoing problem which I need to have solved , would it be down to bad coding from my developer?

In other words, are the image files named like
BigTree.jpg
but the links are like
bigtree.jpg

Some OS don’t care so much about upper - lower case letters (and will match ether), some do (and won’t)

The files uploaded are all different by name. The site is a dating site Bridesandlovers so each week hundreds of new images are uploaded as members update their photos or join the site. Members upload their images in the members area they then show in the admin for us to check before approving. This is also a big problem because often the images are not showing in the admin so making it hard to see what images you are approving.

I have tried to point this issue out time and time again to my developer but I hear the same story time after time “It is ok on my pc” He has no iOS products to check. It is like beating my head against a brick wall!
