Image doesn't appear at all in IE

Hi Folks,

this one’s a mystery to me. I have a thumbnail image that appears in every browser except IE. Can anyone suggest a solution?

Here’s the code:

<div class="vidthumb"><img src="http://img.youtube.com/vi/<?php echo($thumbnailidentifier);?>/default.jpg" width="" height="" border="1" class="" color="#FF3309" /></div>

And if you want to see it in action:

Somehow in IE the image tag includes

width="1" height="1"

Any idea how that’s getting in there?

Nope. But I guess if I insert a static size that would solve the problem?

Dave

I’m not sure, as it may get overridden, but it’s worth a try.

Did that work?I don’t have IE to hand (on a mac)

Heh heh, I’m on a Mac too, but I have IE installed. Yes, it works perfectly. (I tested in IE8 and 7.)

Great but…

quote “but I have IE installed. Yes, it works perfectly. (I tested in IE8 and 7.)”

…how do you do that??

You can run Windows on a Mac in various ways. You could partition the hard drive and boot into Windows, but I’ve never bothered with that. Instead, I use a virtual machine. That’s basically a program for the Mac into which you can install Windows. There are a few versions you can pay for, like VMWare Fusion (which I use), or [URL=“http://www.parallels.com/au/products/desktop/”]Parallels, or there is the free [URL=“http://www.virtualbox.org/”]VirtualBox, which is very good too. I have XP and Win7 installed, and I run IE6, IE7 and IE8 on my Mac. I can jump between them with a click, share files between them and the Mac, drag and drop files, load any Windows programs etc… It’s really handy for testing websites etc.

Thanks for your help Ralph.
