I have been reading through out the forums that we should not bother about Alexa ranking for our website.
Alexa traffic stats are not accurate, it just count Alexa traffic (people with Alexa toolbar on their system) on your website.
Just install Alexa toolbar on your website and on your system.
Blah Blah…
I am wondering if we are ignoring Alexa for our site ranking then which tool should we use to indicate it. Though we can track our traffic coming to our site but what about rank.
Also, having much traffic is enough to assume a site is doing well or do we need to apply some other techniques to track its performance?
On the basis of SEO which stands for search engine optimization you can prefer two points they are mentioned below.
PA:- Page Authority
DA:- Domain Authority
Every website has PA and DA. It should be not less than 35. If anybody wants to check thier PA and DA then they should prefer opensiteexplorer.org/
This website will also help to check total back link.
Thanks
No stats are really reliable. Not even your own server stats. For starters, definitions may vary from company to company.
What Google considers a unique visitor, it may something else for Alexa.
What you can rely on is the trend. If you do receive more visitors, your server stats, Alexa ranking and Google should agree on the trend and reflect and uprise in the number of visitros, the number of pages viewed/served (at least, the home page ;)) and other similar stats.
So what you really want is an upwards trend. Ranking is not important and even a bit useless. What you really want is a page that works and that receives the right amount of visitors interested in your products or whatever you have to say.
Would it be matter if you ranked nbr 3 if your page was not ready for that amount of traffic? Bad programming could do that.
Does it matter if your ranking is 1024 if the traffic you do receive is ready to buy your product at your price and you hit your profit goals and then some more?
In both cases, you would still have to keep on working and improving your service. If you didn’t, your business would die.
So don’t think about ranking and don’t get obsessed with it. Concentrate on what works on your site and what doesn’t, try to understand why it works or why it doen’t, make it better, create better content, publish your improvements when necessary so people know what’s changing… bit by bit, you’ll see that the number of visitors will increase in any stats you use and that’s what you want.
You don’t need to get a good rank in alexa or any others site, just do SEO naturally for your blog/site so that you can get a large number of traffic from search engine.
