What does your doctype look like. Maybe using a loose instead of strict will solve the problem?
well, I’m using transitional, that’s what I was instructed to use for this site…

in case anybody’s curious… I ended up wrapping each link in a div of fixed height (height of link plus bottom-mgn), that did it for IE6…
