IE problem fixes

http://gameinfiniti.com/

If you view the site in IE on the top bar, in the search box (Games…), you will see that it is not properly fitted in to the box.

CSS:

#livesearch {
        float:right;
        margin-right: 15px;
        margin-top: 3px; }

Also I noticed the submit button for the login is not in the right place (too far to the right)

CSS:

input.login-submit {
	background: url(http://gameinfiniti.com/images/bg_login_submit.gif) 0 0 no-repeat;
	font-size: 0;
	text-indent: -10000px;
	margin: 20px 0 4px 140px;
	width: 65px;
	height: 15px;
	cursor: pointer;
	display: block;
	clear: both; }

Any idea how to fix these problems?

Yeah i kno, the text indent hack :rolleyes:

Thanks! :slight_smile:

Hi,

Try setting the line-height and padding for the search box as follows.

#searchbox {
    background: url(http://gameinfiniti.com/images/searchbox.png) 0 0 no-repeat;
    width: 201px;
    height: 31px;
    line-height:31px;
    padding:0;
    text-indent: 8px;
    color: #408BED;
    font-size: 1.2em;
}

The text looks a different size but I guess that’s because you haven’t defined a fallback font (as most of the ones you have listed won’t be present on anyone’s machine) so they are styled differently.

The bottom corners look as though they need clear:both added.

.block .corners-top, .block .corners-bottom, .block .corners-top span, .block .corners-bottom span {
    display: block;
    height: 5px;
    background-repeat: no-repeat;
clear:both;
}

The submit is wide because the fieldset hasn’t cleared the floats above.

#sidebar-right fieldset{clear:both}

Ie6 is too broken to fix quickly though. (Also the code could do with some loving care as it’s structured rather awkwardly :))

wow thanks! =D that worked out nicely

plus you had to go look for the source code, sorry =(
